How I get paid, in plain English.
Required by the Federal Trade Commission, and written the way I would explain it to a friend rather than the way a lawyer would.
Some links pay me
Several links on this site and in my videos are affiliate links. If you buy something through one, I may earn a commission from the retailer or the brand. It never costs you anything extra — the price you pay is the same either way.
That commission is paid by the seller out of their margin. It is not added to your total.
Some products are sent to me
Brands sometimes send me products for free, hoping I will cover them. When that happens I say so — on the video itself and in the caption, not buried in a bio somewhere.
Being sent something does not buy a good review. If a gifted product is not worth your money, I say that instead. A brand that cannot live with that outcome is a brand I should not be working with.
Some posts are paid
Occasionally a brand pays me to make a video. Those are marked as advertising in the caption and with the platform’s own paid-partnership setting, which is a separate control and gets switched on before the post goes live.
Payment buys my time and my production. It does not buy a particular opinion, and I do not accept arrangements that make payment conditional on being positive.
What I will not do
I do not claim a result I have not personally had. I do not review a product I have not actually used. I do not make health, medical or safety claims about anything I am sent.
If I have not tested something long enough to have a real opinion, I will tell you that rather than fill the gap with adjectives.
Why any of this matters
The only thing a small account has is whether people believe it. Disclosure is not a legal box I tick reluctantly — it is the reason a recommendation from me is worth anything at all.
If you ever see something on my channel that looks like an undisclosed partnership, email me and I will fix it.
